Playing with digital manipulation

Most of my art starts with a photograph often taken whilst on a walk but in this case it started with the rotting of out garden fence. The fence had been in place for over 25 years that we (my husband and I )know about. With the outside edge facing the full force of the weather it finally gave up the ghost last summer. The side facing us still looked perfect but the side that faced the weather had been carved by the wind.

I made frottage images of the wood and photographed it then manipulated the images in Procreate to produce a new image. These images were then made into 4 layer separation images to use for printing my degree project.

    Love it, looks so intricate and complicated. Not quite sure what frottage is, but looks stunning:0)

      It is the term used to describe brass rubbing done on other objects.
