Ozzy

Just started a new painting, basic drawing to give me an idea of where to paint. Olly is a venerable labrador with a face full of character so I am looking forward to this developing.

It seems odd to be using white on a black dog, but the light shines on his coat and his mussel is grey.
Next layer , starting to come alive not too sure about the background but as the darks get darker it may be OK.
I’ve tried a different background it looks very different, I’ve contacted the buyer she thinks the left ear needs to be wider and says his right eye is blue, she has sent more photos to help me.
He is a lovely old boy I want to do him justice.
I think it is finished, I’m just waiting for the buyers feedback.
The buyer requested a charge of pose, I have to admit it looks better. All part of the learning process. He is a combination of 4 different photos. I hope to meet him and see his likeness in the flesh.

Work in progress

I hope I have captured the likeness of this little dog

I think once you have painted the eyes the picture comes to life. I still have his partner to do.

Started on his little friend They are Malteese terrors
I think I have finished but like my other paintings I will live with it and see if I feel more needs doing.

Latest commission

Today I finally stopped procrastinating and started. This one is slightly different for me as none of the three photos have the dogs at the same size and they now are.

Now waiting to see if this is what they want before I continue
I have been given the okay to continue, so today I’ve done a bit more now I have to wait for it to dry before I can do any more.
