I’ve been working on portraits in clay, I’m pleased with this one it looks vaguely like the model.

#painting
Painting for fun!
Sometimes when you see a different artists work it inspires you to have a go. Last night I attended an artist talk and one of the artists mentioned was Joan Mitchell. Having looked her up I felt inspired to have a go.

Ozzy
Just started a new painting, basic drawing to give me an idea of where to paint. Olly is a venerable labrador with a face full of character so I am looking forward to this developing.

Silverdale and Arnside TrailArt

Next Exhibition I am exhibiting as part of King St Arts associate artists group
Playing with pastels
Having fun learning new skills and techniques with pastels pure and simple with Graham Oliver as our tutor

I’ve decided it is finished, today I’ve taken pictures to be framed, let’s hope they know what they are doing, pastels have to be kept clear of the glass and the frame has to be sealed to reduce water damage.. fingers crossed.
Summer flowers
Going back to my roots with this piece of art. Coured pencil botanical flowers. This is a Cana lily, as you can see I still have a lot more to do.

Work in progress

I think once you have painted the eyes the picture comes to life. I still have his partner to do.

Adding colour
Road map
All these masks were photographed within a mile of my home. I printed and painted three sheets to use as backgrounds for the photos and collagraph printed the sheet that became the back of the book
Latest commission
Today I finally stopped procrastinating and started. This one is slightly different for me as none of the three photos have the dogs at the same size and they now are.
